During the opening ceremony of the mentioned conference, Sheikh Zia-ur-Rahman Al-Aryoubii, Deputy Minister for Academic Affairs of the Ministry of Higher Education, pledged that the ministry would share the outcomes of the conference’s research papers with relevant sectoral ministries and agencies for practical implementation.
He emphasized that Afghanistan’s economic growth depends on improved services in health, education, handicrafts, agriculture, and livestock, noting that most of these resources exist in rural areas which deserve greater attention.
Meanwhile, Mawlavi Abdul Wasi Mansoor, Chancellor of Ghazni University, stated that the people of rural made great sacrifices in ending the occupation, and therefore their development must now be prioritized.
Also, Ghazni Governor Mawlavi Abdul Samad Javed, Deputy Head of the National Standards Authority, Mohammad Asif Qanit, and Assistant of the Ulema Council Sheikh Abdul Rahman urged the Islamic government to give more attention to rural development. They also called on academics and researchers to explore practical solutions and uncover opportunities for progress in these areas.
It is remarkable that the three-day conference aims to identify opportunities and challenges in rural areas, study economic, agricultural, and environmental issues, propose research-based solutions, and share findings with relevant institutions.
It should not be left untold that over 70 academic and research papers will be presented by academic staff and experts during the event.
