Afghan and Kazakh Higher Education Ministers Hold Online Talks on Academic Cooperation

 

During an online meeting, the Minister of Higher Education of the IEA, Sheikh ul Hadith Mawlavi Nide Mohammad Nadeem, and Kazakhstan’s Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, discussed strengthening bilateral academic and research cooperation.

The two sides focused on common challenges related to water resources, food security, and climate change. The Afghan side requested support in joint research programs, sending Kazakh academic staff to Afghanistan, enhancing the capacity of Afghan academics, and establishing research centers in Afghan universities.

Minister Nurbek expressed Kazakhstan’s commitment to cooperation and announced support for establishing a Water Research Center at Kabul University.

Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to expanding educational and scientific ties based on previously signed agreements.
