Balkh University

This university established in 1986. At the beginning this university had Engineering, History and Literature, Agriculture faculties, later in 1986 (same year) medical faculty also established and emerged with Balkh University. Other faculties like: Law & Political Science faculty in 1992, Shariya faculty in 1993 and Education faculty in 2002 established in the frame of Balkh University. This University has 8 faculties with the total 5553 students that 3718 are male and 1835 of them are female. 239 professors are teaching that 181 are male and 51 of them are female teachers. (2008)
